Self-hosted Home Lab

A hands-on infrastructure project

I run a personal home lab using Proxmox VE to practise virtualization, service deployment, storage administration and network operations. This page describes the tools documented in my CV without exposing private infrastructure details.

01 / Technology stack

Services and responsibilities

Proxmox VE

Virtualization platform for managing a personal server and virtual machines.

TrueNAS

Network-attached storage service for the lab.

Pi-hole

DNS-based filtering for devices on the local network.

Uptime Kuma

Availability monitoring for self-hosted services.

Self-hosted messaging server and client.

Cloudflare Tunnel

02 / ARCHITECTURE

Conceptual service overview

The diagram groups technologies by role; it is not a claim about exact VM, container, network or firewall topology.

03 / PRACTICAL SKILLS

What this demonstrates

Practical familiarity with virtualization, service configuration, DNS, storage, monitoring and remote-access tooling. The home lab complements my professional Level 1/2 IT helpdesk experience.

For privacy and security, public documentation omits internal addresses, hostnames, credentials and detailed firewall rules.
